Our client is a young and ambitious mobile game studio founded by a team of senior professionals with strong expertise in product, marketing, monetization, and game development. The company’s mission is to build commercially successful hybrid-casual puzzle and word games that combine high-quality gameplay with data-driven decision-making.
You will join a compact, professional team where everyone contributes directly to the product’s success. The studio is fully funded with a long planning horizon, stable budgets, and mature management processes.
As a Game Designer, you will shape the core gameplay, meta-systems, and in-game economy of hybrid-casual puzzle and word games for mobile platforms. You will work closely with developers, artists, and the producer to design engaging mechanics, optimize progression and retention, and build content that drives long-term player engagement.
This is a full-time remote role with the option to start immediately.
На какие задачи (обязанности)?
Game Design
Develop core gameplay rules, mechanics, constraints, and level objectives
Design progression systems: difficulty curves, pacing, themes
Create engaging game loops focusing on retention and engagement
Balance parameters: timers, lives, hints, and other gameplay variables
Level Design
Create and configure levels manually or via editors, ensuring variety and challenge
Design rules for procedural level generation (when used)
Conduct A/B tests and analyze feedback on level quality and performance
Analytics and Iteration
Collect and interpret data: retention, level funnels, drop-off points
Generate hypotheses and propose changes based on user behavior
Optimize gameplay balance and UX based on metrics and tests
Monetization and Economy
Design in-game economy: currencies, boosters, consumables
Create engagement systems: daily rewards, challenges, bonus levels, events
Integrate rewarded ads, in-app purchases, and other F2P mechanics
Feature Prototyping
Draft clear and structured GDDs
Collaborate with developers and artists to prototype and implement new mechanics and UI
Test features from concept to final implementation
Documentation and Communication
Maintain and update all design documentation
Present ideas to the team and participate in regular design discussions
Take part in playtests and discussions about game feel and visual direction
Какого профессионала ищем?
Must have:
2–4+ years of experience as a Game Designer on mobile projects (ideally puzzle games)
Deep understanding of the mobile puzzle/word games market, top titles, and trends
Experience designing core and meta-gameplay systems
Experience creating and balancing levels (including procedural generation)
Proficiency working with analytics (retention, funnels, level drop-off)
Confident use of Unity and level design tools
Experience with F2P monetization systems
Strong skills in writing GDDs and clear documentation
Technical English (documentation and written communication)
Native Russian language
Nice to have:
Experience with LiveOps (seasonal events, A/B testing)
Background in word games or sorters
