Head of Art

We are CM Games, an independent game developer. The company, founded in 2010, is based in Tallinn. Our mission is to create experiences that are loved forever.

We are looking for a Head of Art who will leads a division of artists, including but not limited to 2D/3D artists, UI designers, animators, concept artists, teach artists, etc.They ensure that all their products and services are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with the required quality standards.

• leading all art development;

• looking for ways to improve art development processes;

• ensuring consistency in art and its quality across all products;

• providing mentoring and career development opportunities for the employees;

• training the company's art teams and providing feedback to them;

• developing strategic art development plans;

• managing budgets and monitoring art teams' performance;

• providing support to project management and production teams;

• collaborating with company leaders, other team members, and departments;

• troubleshooting problems;

• adhering to brand guidelines;

• communicating with clients;

• identifying and mitigating risks and issues that could impact the quality and schedule of the game development.

Какого профессионала ищем?

• passion for games and sound knowledge of the industry;

• at least a bachelor's degree in Art Direction and/or Design;

• 5+ years of experience in the game industry in a similar position;

• development experience starting from an artist/designer to a hands-on management position;

• strong understanding of the business aspects of the games industry, such as budgeting and project management;

• ability to work effectively with multiple teams and across disciplines;

• sound knowledge and skills in at least one branch of art;

• willingness to be directly involved in creating art;

• deep understanding of the game industry's production aspects, e.g., pipelines, technology, and standards;

• ability to manage and allocate resources effectively;

• skills to provide meaningful feedback;

• strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with other departments, stakeholders, and external partners and maintain positive and productive working relationships with them;

• ability to work in a fast-paced environment;

• well-developed creative skills;

• excellent strategic, planning, and analytical skills;

• strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate others;

• attention to detail and quality management skills;

• critical thinking and problem-solving skills;

• knowledge of tools, software, or platforms commonly used in game development, such as Unity, Unreal Engine, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
