Lead of Data & Analytics

Hi! We are Aya Games, a product-driven company creating a mobile open-world RPG with deep social mechanics.

Our project is a living digital city where players can build careers, acquire property, interact with other participants, earn in-game currency, and choose their own path — from law enforcement to street gangs. We combine role-playing mechanics, an economic system, and multiplayer features to deliver a unique gaming experience on mobile platforms.

We are looking for a Lead of Data & Analytics who will not only manage the team but also be deeply involved in analytics.

What You Will Do:

• Lead all analytics streams: product analytics, marketing analytics, game analytics, and data engineering.

• Build and grow the analytics team: hiring, mentoring, and developing competencies.

• Dive deep into key metrics (CPI, ROAS, Retention, etc.), develop and test hypotheses, conduct cohort analyses, and bring ideas to life together with the team.

• Develop the analytics function within the company: foster a data-driven decision-making culture, build data marts, set up a comprehensive metrics framework, and implement A/B testing infrastructure.

• Develop the data engineering (DE) direction: ensure data collection from various sources, maintain data quality, build ETL processes, select the appropriate data stack, and support and enhance event-based analytics.

• Manage the analytics backlog: task evaluation, prioritization, decomposition, and quality and deadline control.

• Manage requirements for user-facing data marts and dashboards.

• Analyze data and provide actionable solutions: conduct research and ad-hoc analyses, visualize results via dashboards and analytical reports.

• Conduct deep user behavior analysis, identify growth opportunities, validate hypotheses, and prepare recommendations for management.

• Develop solutions at the intersection of analytics, machine learning (ML), and optimization.

What We Expect:

• 2+ years of experience leading all analytics streams: product, marketing, game analytics, and data engineering.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to build effective teams and processes.

• Proven experience identifying growth opportunities through data analysis.

• Strong presentation skills for communicating results to management and business teams.

• Solid knowledge of Python (with analytics libraries) and SQL (ClickHouse, MySQL).

• Experience working with BI tools (Metabase, Power BI, Superset, or similar).

• Hands-on experience in A/B testing with a solid understanding of statistical theory and probability.

• Experience designing and building ETL processes.

• Basic knowledge of Data Engineering: data marts design, data ingestion from various sources, and performance optimization.

• Experience in designing analytics architecture and data integrations.

• Experience building event-based analytics and working with data streaming tools (Kafka, Pub/Sub, etc.).
